HealthAI – The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health is a global nonprofit that champions Responsible AI in health. Its mission is to advance the development and adoption of Responsible AI solutions in health through the collaborative implementation of regulatory mechanisms and global standards. HealthAI’s approach focuses on empowering national and regional institutions to regulate and validate AI solutions for health according to global standards issued by existing normative agencies such as the WHO, OECD and UNESCO, while also promoting global cooperation and knowledge sharing.

Job Description

HealthAI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Knowledge and Training Manager to oversee the curation and production of knowledge and the development of training activities related to Responsible AI in health, with a particular focus on capacity strengthening activities aimed to establish national and regional regulatory mechanisms for AI in health. He/she will manage a team of specialists on AI ethics and policies and reports to the Chief Scientist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult learning and project management, with a good knowledge on health policy as well as AI in health ethics and regulation.   

Responsibilities

1.      Lead the development of a knowledge portal on AI ethics, regulatory policies and regulations in health:

·       Apply design thinking principles to the conceptualization, design and development of the portal;

·       Monitor and maintain the use of the knowledge portal.

2.      Lead the development and management of a training curriculum for national health regulatory authorities:

·       Apply principles of adult and competency-based learning in the development of an inclusive training curriculum for countries keen on applying Responsible AI in health principles to the establishment of national regulatory mechanisms for AI in health;

·       Develop, implement and keep up to date a variety of training formats (face to face, online and hybrid) that are interactive and effective, including the translation of expert content into learning material through content authoring tools.

·       Run the Learning Management System for the different programs of Health AI.

3.      Lead the selection and training of internal and external trainers for the delivery of capacity strengthening activities to national regulatory authorities:

·       Identify and select adequate trainers for local delivery.

·       Develop and implement teaching guides for trainers to ensure consistency and quality in HealthAI’s capacity strengthening activities;

4.      Project management:

·       Determine and define project scope and objectives;

·       Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements;

·       Track project costs in order to meet budget;

·       Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan;

·       Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.

 Candidate Qualifications

  • University, Master degree or higher in a related field, such as education, policy work, capacity development. A focus on health and AI would be advantageous.

  • Demonstrated expertise and work experience in knowledge curation, learning content production, development of training and capacity strengthening activities, or related areas with a minimum of 7 years in a relevant role.

Personal Skills and Competencies

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge on learning methodologies (including online and hybrid formats) within the health and regulatory domains.

  • Experience with content authoring tools (e.g. Lectora, i-Spring, Adobe captivate, Articulate 360, etc.) and Learning Management Systems (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.)

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience;

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and see projects through their full life cycle;

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.

 Attitude:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary team;

  • Strong diplomatic and communication skills as well as cultural sensitivity;

  • Ability to initiate and manage projects and to deliver timely and high quality products; 

  • Strategic thinker, able to see the big picture and to identify when and how to change priorities;

  • Passion for learning and a “start-up mindset”, able to easily switch between strategic and operational responsibilities;

  • Strong attention to detail.

Schedule: This is a 100% position and hybrid working mode is preferred.
