HealthAI Welcomes New Vice Chair of the Board, Syarifah Liza Munira, PhD

Geneva, 12 March 2026 – HealthAI – The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health is extremely honored to welcome Syarifah Liza Munira, PhD, as its new Vice Chair of the Board. Dr. Munira is a global health economist with over 25 years of experience integrating health financing, evidence, and innovation across government, academia, international institutions, and the private sector.

As the inaugural Director General for Health Policy at Indonesia’s Ministry of Health (2022–2025), she played a central role in advancing major reforms that institutionalized evidence-based policymaking, modernized national health data governance, strengthened financing through tariff reform, and elevated health technology assessment (HTA) to global best-practice standards. Earlier in her career at the Global Fund, she co-developed the pioneering Debt-to-Health (D2H) initiative, mobilizing over USD 300 million for public health programs and facilitating the conversion of USD 460 million in sovereign debt — a model later replicated across 14 countries.

Her work in these roles focuses on aligning data, financing, and governance to ensure innovation — including AI — delivers measurable and equitable improvements in health system performance.
