HealthAI and SPOT Nordic launch strategic collaboration on responsible AI in health in the Nordic region

HealthAI is partnering with SPOT Nordic to launch a focused science diplomacy collaboration that supports the responsible implementation of artificial intelligence in healthcare across the Nordic region.

Grounded in scientific integrity and aligned with global governance principles, the collaboration brings together HealthAI’s global regulatory expertise and SPOT Nordic’s networks across Denmark and Sweden. HealthAI is a Geneva-based, independent nonprofit organization that partners with governments, regulators, innovators and healthcare professionals to ensure that AI in health is safe, fair and effective. SPOT Nordic is a science diplomacy association connecting Portugal and the Nordic countries through strategic collaboration in science, technology and innovation.

The initiative will begin with an institutional visit to Copenhagen and Stockholm, featuring high-level meetings with ministries of health, health data agencies, research and innovation councils, academic institutions and foundations. Planned engagements include academic sessions at leading universities, such as the University of Copenhagen and Karolinska Institutet, as well as diplomatic receptions hosted by the Portuguese embassies.

Through these activities, HealthAI and SPOT Nordic aim to position Denmark and Sweden as gateways for responsible AI in health in Europe and to develop a model for wider replication across the region.

As part of this mission, HealthAI and SPOT Nordic will host roundtables on responsible AI in health with key Nordic and European stakeholders:

1 June – Copenhagen (Denmark)

2 June – Stockholm (Sweden)

These meetings will create space for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and practical cooperation on AI governance, data stewardship and patient safety.
